This was a three-year project that promotes south to south youth exchanges involving partners in Africa and Asia. Goal: To promote peace communicators to communicate for peace. Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar are the participating Asian countries, whereas South Africa (Cape Town) and Uganda are the participating African partners in Peacecom project. CRY Uganda participated in the three annual rounds of Peacecom project that ran from 2006 to 2009. CRY Uganda hosted an exchange fellow from Philippines and sent three exchange fellows to Asia; one (Miss Akiteng Marion) to Philippines and Mr. Rwankangi Ronald and Miss Amuge Enid both to Indonesia. The FK Norway youth exchanges lasted 10 months for each round. Peace Comm project is funded by Fredskorpset Norway, a programme under the foreign affairs's ministry of Norwegian government. |
