Karamoja Youth peace facilitators project is in Karamoja- Moroto and Nakapiripirit districts. This is funded by Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD). This project is about building the capacity of former warriors and engaging them in peace building activities and to identify alternatives to livelihoods. Among these are youth from Pokot area. These 47 youth have so far reached out to 16 communities engaging them in identifying alternatives to their livelihood of rustling within the Karamoja region. The strategies for this project is community dialogues, entrepreneurship induction and peace theatre. The second phase of this project ends in June 2010. Thereafter, CRY Uganda will roll out the 3rd phase by building upon the success of both the pilot and the 2nd phase of the project. So far the partner sub counties that CRY Uganda works with are: Nadunget, Iriir, Rupa, Katikekile, Namalu and Amudat.
