CRY Uganda is the coordinating centre for the Eastern Uganda Youth Link (EUYL). This is a policy advocacy youth network in eastern Uganda that addresses issues of human security, human rights, peace building, poverty eradication and sub issues such as farmers' right to seed. EUYL is a rare programme that brought together youth from warring ethnic groups that included the Karimojong and their bitter neighbours of Teso, Sebei and Bugisu, to work together in order to create a common policy advocacy agenda.
Members to the EUYL are nominees from civil society organisations from eastern Uganda. Some of the participating CSOs are Association for World Education- Uganda Chapter, CRY Uganda, Katakwi-Urafiki Foundation, Uganda Red Cross, Soroti office, Kumi, Soroti, Kaberamaido, Macedonia Jazz Band and Katakwi disctrict councils, TESDA, Teso Initiative for Peace/OCODI, Teso Women Peace Activisits, She PeaceMakers, to name a few.
ActionAid International Uganda funded this programme under its eastern region office.

This was a three-year project that promotes south to south youth exchanges involving partners in Africa and Asia.
Goal: To promote peace communicators to communicate for peace. Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar are the participating Asian countries, whereas South Africa (Cape Town) and Uganda are the participating African partners in Peacecom project. CRY Uganda participated in the three annual rounds of Peacecom project that ran from 2006 to 2009.
CRY Uganda hosted an exchange fellow from Philippines and sent three exchange fellows to Asia; one (Miss Akiteng Marion) to Philippines and Mr. Rwankangi Ronald and Miss Amuge Enid both to Indonesia.
The FK Norway youth exchanges lasted 10 months for each round.
Peace Comm project is funded by Fredskorpset Norway, a programme under the foreign affairs's ministry of Norwegian government. |

Dialogue Though Debate Project – exchanging good practices in supporting youth debate programs with Rwanda and Uganda. Funding from European commission youth education and culture. The project aims at facilitating the exchange good practice and experience in promotion of youth debate programs between four youth organizations from Lithuania, Netherlands, Rwanda and Uganda. The project focuses on knowledge and methodology transfer with emphasis on spearheading independent youth debate programs in Rwanda and Uganda. The goals of the Project include: establishing closer links between partner organizations in order to exchange good practice; promotion of innovative methods of youth work in Rwanda and Uganda, development of skills of direct beneficiaries of the Project through intensive training component and having a positive impact on the local communities by engaging them in participation and discussion of the most important issues affecting their lives.(www.idebate.org/dtd). |

Linking Individuals, Knowledge and Culture (LINC) Program, Critical thinking across cultures project. Willamette University, the International Debate Education Association (IDEA) and Conflict Resolution by Youth (CRY) Uganda are partnering in the Critical Thinking Across Cultures (CTAC) Project. With financial support from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. The CTAC Project is a three-week exchange for students from Uganda to Salem, Oregon in the USA and the reciprocal exchange of U.S. students to Uganda. The aim of the Critical Thinking Across Cultures (CTAC) project is to develop a sense of civic responsibility and commitment to community development among youth from Uganda and the United States. Through a program of debate education, the CTAC program is aimed at developing youth leadership skills, such as critical thinking, logical analysis, research and public speaking (www.idebate.org/ctac) |

Youth to Youth conflict transformation project, in Karamoja, Lango and Teso (KaLaTe Region), funded by the 9th EDF Civil society capacity building program of the European Union in Kampala. This project is about mobilizing, organizing and engaging youth in peace building.
We have facilitated exchange amongst youth in conflict areas, facilitated the formation and strengthen youth groups in conflict areas and further strengthen the capacity of these youth groups through trainings. These youth have reached out to communities engaging them with peace building activities. The wining strategy for this project is using forum theatre, debates, music among others. Through the project CRY Uganda has engaged youth and children to advocate for policies and actions to control proliferation of small arms and light weapons in Uganda and great lakes region. |
